Bikes4Life 2012

This action was awarded by Velo City Vienna in its global competition "Cycling Visionaries" 2013, and this year expands to reach hundreds of cities around the world.

What is a ‘life-line'?

It’s an artistic expression in the public space, done legally and with the respect to local environment, to promote better urban cycling conditions.

A life-line can take many forms, from a symbolic small bicycle that is painted on a wall, to a large complete bike lane which is designed for the city. All creative expressions promoting the use of urban bikes are valid on this day.

Every year, on the 22nd of September, The International Car-Free Day.

The great symbolism of this action is that we develop it simultaneously in several cities around  the world.

Who does it?

It is lead by people like YOU, active citizens in each city.
